With reference to your letter requesting the Secretary of State to instruct the Governor of Holloway Prison to provide Mr. Lewis (who escorted the prisoner Edith M. H. Carew from Hong Kong) with board and lodging, and a sum of money to be afterwards refunded, I am directed by the Prison Commissioners to acquaint you that £21.0.0 has been handed to this Officer by the Governor, who now reports that Mrs. Lewis has applied to him for an advance.
